Add Sections

Sections are pre-built rows of elements which users can add to their responsive sites. Sections enable users to build great looking sites quickly by saving time during the design process. The infrastructure was built in order to provide a better user experience with a variety of pre-made sections.

Add Sections

To add sections of widgets:

  1. Hover between rows, and click the Add Section button. Sections display in the left panel.
  2. In Section Mode, a gallery of pre-made sections is available in the left panel, grouped into categories (Intro, Features, About, Team, Testimonials, and so on).
  3. In the left panel, click a section to display it as a new row. You can then browse sections within the same group by using the arrows keys or by selecting a section from a different group.
  4. To embed the section into the site, click Save. Alternatively, click Save & Add Another to continue adding sections to your site.
    The sectionconverts into a row and all elements in the section are editable.
  • Sections do not use any custom CSS, and are all build within the editor by designers.
  • Sections do not use the text color or text font settings from the site theme settings. However, you can always clear the format and apply your design.
  • Sections may contain more than one row.
  • Sections cannot be used in the header. To switch the full header section, open the header editor. For more information, see Headers.
  • Sections are not available for sidebar templates (for example, Portfolio, Milk and Cookies, and so on).

Create a Flex Section with AI

Use the AI Assistant to generate content and design for flex sections.


You must be on a Team plan or higher and have AI permissions to use this feature.

This feature is being gradually rolled out to all users and is currently only available to create flex sections in the classic and all-flex editors.

To create a section with AI:

  1. Hover between rows and click + Add Section.

  2. Select AI Generated.

  3. If you have not already filled out your business information you will be prompted to do so.

  4. Next, the AI Assistant will gather information about the section. Complete the following fields:

    • What is this sections overall theme? Select one of the following options:

      • Intro

      • About

      • Services

      • Other

    • What content should this section include?

      • In this field, we recommend you be as specific as possible and add relevant details so the AI Assistant can generate useful and accurate content. Maximum limit of 1,000 characters.

  5. Click Generate.

  6. If you are not satisfied with an aspect of the section, click the Sparkle button and select from the following options:

    • Regenerate text and images. This regenerates the text and images, but does not change the layout.

    • Regenerate entire section. After selecting a layout from the side panel and selecting Regenerate entire section, your section layout, text, and images will change.

    • Edit prompt. This allows you to edit the original prompt.

  7. Once you are satisfied with your section content and design, click Save section.

After clicking save, the section is added to your page.
