Widgets: Shape

The Shape widget is a design tool that can be used to highlight important messages. Create buttons and banners, call out awards, and highlight sale prices. You can add an image, color background and text, control the size, and add shadows. The widget can be placed on any location for complete flexibility.

Content Editor

  1. Select a shape.

  2. To add a link to the shape, click Add Link (for more information on links, see Link Picker.

  3. Type a title and description for the shape. To hide the title and description, click the eye (24517315481495-eye_icon.png) icon.

    Note

    The long text field provides various text formatting options, such as italicizing, bolding, or underlining text.

  4. Type Alt text and a Tooltip for the shape.

Design Editor

  1. To switch from a color to an image background, click Layout .

    • To change the default image, navigate to the Style tab and select the Image tab.

      Note

      If the Keep Proportions is toggled off, the image's proportions will be adjusted to the widget's .

  2. Adjust the width, height, and hover effect (for desktop) in the Style tab.

  3. To place the widget on top of or overlapping an image or another widget, click the Spacing tab, and configure the margins to be a negative number (for example, -50px).

  4. To make the icon a floating widget, enable the Floating toggle, and select a position for the widget. To display the floating widget on the current page only, enable the Show on this page only toggle.

Make sure the design settings you define are correct per device. Settings such as spacing (of the whole widget and individual items), width and more are defined per device.

Examples

Create an Interesting Layout with an Amorphic Shape

To create an interesting layout with an amorphic shape:

  1. Create a row with two columns.

  2. Choose an amorphic shape and add it to the right-side column.

  3. Make the shape as big as the column.

  4. In the Design Editor, select the layout with the background image and replace the image with the one you want.

Use a Shape as a Button

To use a shape as a button by adding a link and hover effect:

  1. Select the circle shape and add a title and description.

  2. Select colors for the shape and texts.

  3. To position the shape on the corner of an image, use a negative margin on the left side of the shape (spacing > margin > -50px left & top margin).

Highlight a Specific Plan or Service

To use shapes to highlight a specific plan or service:

  1. Choose the flag shape and add a title and short description.

  2. Toggle off Keep proportion so you can adjust only the width.

  3. Select colors for the shape and texts.

  4. To position the shape so it overlaps the top of a column, use a negative top margin (spacing > margin > -30px top margin).

Create a Scroll Button

To use a shape to create a scroll button:

  1. Choose the diamond shape and add a title.

  2. Toggle off Keep proportion so you can adjust only the width.

  3. Select colors for the shape and texts.

  4. To position the shape on top of an image, use a negative top margin (spacing > margin > -50px top margin).
